Ansala Boteju is a dedicated Wildlife and Nature photographer currently based in Turku, Finland. While his journey now takes him to explore the wilds of Northern Europe, his heart remains deeply connected to the untamed beauty of Sri Lanka’s wilderness.

Ansala’s passion for wildlife began at an early age. His first journey into the wild was a family trip to Wasgamuwa National Park in 1997, when he was just six months old. These family excursions into Sri Lanka’s lush forests and rich ecosystems nurtured a profound love for nature, eventually blossoming into a full-fledged pursuit of wildlife photography in 2015. Since then, he has captured breathtaking images that tell compelling stories of wild creatures in their natural habitats.

His photography reflects not only technical precision but also a deep respect for the animals he photographs. He believes in showcasing the wild as it is free, untamed, and undisturbed and his work seeks to inspire the same appreciation for wildlife in others.

After graduating from the University of Colombo’s Faculty of Science, Ansala pursued a career in the IT sector. Despite his professional role, he remains devoted to wildlife photography, capturing the diverse beauty of nature’s creations.

Now in Finland, Ansala continues to pursue his passion for wildlife photography. From dense Sri Lankan jungles to Finnish wild taiga, his lens captures the raw, authentic beauty of nature’s creations. His work serves as a bridge between two worlds, highlighting the essence of wild places and the creatures that call them home. Through his photography, Ansala aims to inspire others to cherish and protect the wild, no matter where it exists.
